Bristol Central, Kennedy leading the way so far in girls volleyball

When it comes to area girls volleyball, Bristol Central and Kennedy sport the best records.

Here’s more about the Rams and the Eagles:

Bristol Central

The Rams are 3-0 after victories over Ellington (3-0 on Sept. 11), Plainville (3-0, Sept. 12) and Conard (3-2, Sept. 14). Central faced a tough battle against Conard in West Hartford, but the Rams were able to pull out the victory in five sets. Taylor Patnode and Amanda Warner are the lone seniors on a solid Central team. Patnode and Warner are looked at for leadership with a young team that has a bunch of sophomores. Junior Peyton Greger has been another key player.

Kennedy

After losing 3-1 to Seymour in the season opener on Sept. 7, the Eagles have rebounded with wins over Crosby (3-0, Sept. 11), Waterbury Career Academy (3-0, Sept. 13) and Woodland (3-1, Sept. 14). Ariana Padilla, Hannah West, Marin Delaney and Britney Barton all came up big for Kennedy in the win over Woodland. Padilla, West and Delaney are all seniors while Barton is a junior.
