Bristol Greeners win Tri-State slugfest over Bethlehem Plowboys

Bristol GreenersThe Bristol Greeners and Bethlehem Plowboys faced off in a Connecticut Tri-State Baseball League game at Bethlehem’s Gallop Field on Saturday.

The game turned into an absolute slugfest, which Bristol won 12-10 over Bethlehem. The Greeners improved to 6-2 and have won four straight games.

A.J. Lorenzetti had an insane performance with six hits and seven RBI for Bristol. Zach Bartolome had four hits and Ben Mazzone added three hits. Jerry LaPenta IV pitched eight innings for the Greeners. LaPenta threw 153 pitches in nine innings on June 10.

LOCALS HIT WELL FOR THE PLOWBOYS

Two former Waterbury parochial stars had big afternoons at the plate for Bethlehem. Former Holy Cross and UConn-Avery Point standout Mike Chiovitti had three hits, and so did former Sacred Heart first baseman Matt Mancini. Mancini has been hot for the Plowboys. Saturday’s three-hit game was his second in the last two games. Bethlehem dropped to 4-4.
