The Bristol Eastern girls basketball team was scheduled to host Wethersfield in the season opener for both teams on Monday night.
Then a water main break happened. The water main break forced the game to be postponed. It will be made up on a date to be determined.
Instead of opening the season on Monday night, Eastern now waits until Thursday, when it plays a game at neighboring Plainville.
Two local teams were in action on Monday, and both were defeated. Bristol Central went down at home to Bulkeley by a score of 49-46. Kaynor Tech lost 52-25 at Joel Barlow. Sarah Wisniewski had 18 points for the Panthers in defeat.
