Bristol Eastern sweeps three from Bristol Central

Bristol Eastern and Bristol Central matched up in three different varsity contests Monday evening.
The Lancers ended the night with a sweep of the Rams, including a soccer doubleheader at Bristol Central High School.
The most drama of the night came during boys soccer, where Eastern’s Jake Woznicki scored an overtime goal to deliver a 2-1 victory over Central. Woznicki scored on a header off a corner kick of Lyle Winiarski, according to a story from Dan Orencole on The Bristol Press website. The Lancers improved to 3-4 while the Rams dropped to 4-2-1.
Girls soccer was the first match of the doubleheader, and Eastern claimed a 5-2 victory over Central. Myah Croze starred for the Lancers with a hat trick. Sara Tyminski and Jenna Soucy also scored goals for Eastern. Goalkeeper Karly Martin and the Lancer defense played their best game of the year, according to a tweet from head coach Scott Redman. Redman also said that the midfielders dominated the game. Eastern ran its record to 4-3 while Central dropped to 3-4.
At Bristol Eastern, the two schools went head-to-head in volleyball in the Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium. The Rams entered with a better record, but the Lancers emerged with a 3-0 victory. Sienna White led the way with 13 kills. Zoe Lowe had seven kills, Gabby Nozzolillo tallied six kills, and Amber Blais added five kills. Ali Rivoira dished out 32 assists to help her squad out.
