Former Bristol Eastern standout Tommy Curtin has proven to be an effective closer for the Bristol Blues of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England.
Curtin earned his FCBL-leading sixth save on Saturday night as Bristol wrapped up a 6-4 win over the Worcester Bravehearts at Muzzy Field. The right-hander gave up a single hit, struck out one and walked none in a 13-pitch frame.
For the season, Curtin is 0-1 with six saves, a 2.45 ERA, 11 strikeouts, two walks and six hits allowed in 7.1 innings pitched.
