Five Bristol Blues have been chosen to play in the FCBL All-Star Game on July 18 at Muzzy Field, and the fans could put a sixth one there with them.
All five players will suit up for the West all-star team. Former Bristol Eastern standout Tommy Curtin was one of the five chosen. Curtin has a FCBL-leading nine saves and 15 strikeouts in 10.1 innings pitched.
Also chosen from Bristol were Ben Maycock, Chris Davis, Jacob Wallace and Jake Frasca. The sixth possible player is Mitch Guilmette, who can get in via a fan vote.
Maycock is hitting .310 with three home runs, 18 RBI and 18 walks. The 18 homers and 18 walks lead the Blues. Davis has been the speedster for the Blues with 16 stolen bases and a FCBL-leading 11 doubles.
Wallace has a solid 2.87 ERA and has struck out 17 batters in 15.2 innings out of the bullpen. Frasca has seen time in the field, at the plate and on the mound. Frasca has five home runs while playing primarily shortstop, but he has also made five relief appearances this season.
Guilmette, a former Bristol Central standout, has been more than solid in his 14 games this season. He is hitting a robust .356 with 16 hits and 13 walks. Click here to go vote Guilmette onto the West team.
