St. Paul athletic director Dave Dennehy announced this morning that the St. Paul girls soccer quarterfinal will begin at 1 p.m. Friday (tomorrow).
The No. 12 Falcons will host the No. 13 Old Saybrook Rams on the grass pitch of McPhee Field. Tickets — prices are set by the CIAC — are $10 for adults, $5 for students.
St. Paul has reached the quarterfinal for the fourth time in program history, the first since 2009. The Falcons defeated No. 21 Lyman Memorial of Lebanon 8-1 in the first round of the Class S state tournament. In the second round, St. Paul upset No. 5 Housatonic 4-2 on Wednesday in Falls Village.
Old Saybrook defeated No. 20 Litchfield 3-0 in the first round, then upset No. 4 St. Bernard of Uncasville 1-0 Wednesday in the second round.
