FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Bristol Central rallies for road win, Kennedy thumps Sacred Heart/Kaynor Tech

Bristol Central 25, Newington 19: Isaiah Miller completed a touchdown pass to Jaekwon Spencer with a minute left in the game to lead the Rams to a stunning road win over the Indians at Alumni Field.
Bristol Central’s defense was able to come up with a big stop after a good kick. The Rams (5-3) kept their playoff hopes alive with the victory. 
Kennedy 46, Sacred Heart/Kaynor Tech 8: This game went heavily in favor of the Eagles, who got to .500 on the season.
Both teams sit at 4-4, and Kennedy actually moved ahead of SH/KT by one spot in the Class L playoff standings (14th-15th place).
Seymour 45, St. Paul 8: In a game both teams needed, the Falcons got slammed by the Wildcats at DeBarber Field in Seymour.
Seymour (6-2) led 39-0 at the half and coasted to the win. St. Paul dropped to 5-3 and saw its Class S state playoff hopes take a big hit.
Watertown 12, Waterbury Career Academy 6: The high-scoring Spartans were kept down by the Indians in a road loss.
WCA dropped to 4-4.
Platt 52, Bristol Eastern 17: The first game on the new turf at Bristol Eastern High School didn’t go well for the Lancers.
Bristol Eastern is 0-8 on the season.
