It has been an up-and-down season for both the Crosby and Holy Cross football teams.
On Saturday afternoon at Cross’s Alumni Field, the Bulldogs and Crusaders took out their frustrations the other side’s defense.
When it was over, Crosby had claimed a 58-43 — no typo there — victory over Holy Cross. Both teams stand at 3-5. The Bulldogs are still in the running for the NVL Brass Division title. Crosby is 2-1 in the Brass and still gets to play Kennedy (4-0) on Thanksgiving morning. To set up a big game on Thanskgiving, however, the Bulldogs must first get past Sacred Heart/Kaynor Tech on Nov. 10. Both games are at Jimmy Lee Stadium. Crosby’s lone division loss is to Waterbury Career Academy, which at 3-2 is out of the running for the division crown.
Holy Cross (2-3 Brass Division) ended its division slate with a loss. The Crusaders play Ansonia on the road on Nov. 11, then host Wolcott on Thanksgiving morning.
