Former Crosby High School standout Kody Kerski is putting up some good numbers for the Class A Advanced Bakersfield Blaze of the Seattle Mariners organization.
Kerski has appeared in 23 games this season. The 24-year-old right-hander has pitched 41.1 innings and has struck out 32 batters. After a slow start, Kerski has picked it up in his last 10 appearances. Kerski has earned a win, a save and struck out 20 batters in 22 innings of work. He has given up 21 hits but allowed just two earned runs. Kerski’s ERA over the past 10 games is an impressive 0.82.
Kerski was drafted in the eighth round in 2014 out of Sacred Heart University. Kerski ranks in the Top 10 in school history in career ERA, career strikeouts, career innings and career wins. He also ranks in the Top 10 in single-season strikeouts. Kerski was a second team All-Northeast Conference selection in 2014. In 2012, Kerski made the Northeast Conference All-Tournament Team. Kerski led the team in wins and strikeouts in 2014. He led the team in ERA in 2013.
Kerski was an All-City, All-NVL and All-State player while at Crosby.
