The Bristol Central boys basketball team is 8-0 following a pair of wins last week at Farmington and Southington.

Teams are doing all they can, and there’s only so much you can do, to stop 7-foot-1 star center Donovan Clingan. The problem is the Rams are more than Clingan.

In the 55-41 win at Farmington on Monday, Clingan was the leading scorer with 15 points, but Central had plenty of balance. Damion Glasper and Carson Rivoira connected for eight points apiece while D’Ante Ross and Sean Wininger contributed seven points each. Eli Rodriguez scored six points and Victor Rosa had four points. Glasper, Rodriguez, Ross and Wininger each hit a 3-pointer. Any spacing the Rams can provide with outside shooting could relieve some of the pressure on Clingan.

In the 55-31 win at Southington on Thursday, Clingan was the top scorer with 14 points, but Rivoira was right behind him with 13. Glasper added 10 points.

Central plays twice at home in the coming week. The Rams host Plainville on Monday at 5:30, then are home against Bristol Eastern on Thursday at 6:45. The second-closest game the Rams played this season was against the Blue Devils, a 64-61 victory at Plainville on Feb. 27.
