There is a new season-high for points in a single game in the area, and the player who notched it nearly hit 50.
Crosby senior Kerwin Prince erupted for 47 points in an 86-70 Bulldog home win over Holy Cross at The Crosby Palace on Tuesday night. The previous season-high point total was from Wolcott senior Elmin Redzepagic, who tallied 40 in a victory over Seymour.
Prince made 18 of his 27 shot attempts (66.7 percent), which included 17 of 25 two-point shots (68 percent). The 6-foot-4 senior also made a 3-pointer in two attempts from the arc. Prince rounded out his offensive onslaught with 10 makes in 12 attempts at the foul line (83.3 percent).
Prince’s performance was about far more than just points. He also had 21 rebounds, five assists and two steals, according to statistics posted on MaxPreps. Crosby improved to 4-3 with the victory.
