There is one undefeated boys’ soccer team in the area, and that is Crosby.
The Bulldogs are 2-0 and have won each of those games by one goal. Crosby began the season with a 2-1 win at city jamboree champion Wilby on Sept. 7, then topped Sacred Heart 1-0 on Tuesday at Jimmy Lee Stadium in the home opener.
St. Paul is the other lone unbeaten boys’ team in the area at 1-0-1. The Falcons tied Holy Cross 2-2 on Sept. 7 and defeated Wilby 7-1 on Tuesday in the home opener in Bristol.
Girls’ Soccer
There are a pair of 2-0 teams from the area, and they are Wolcott and Holy Cross.
The Eagles have scored 10 goals in their first two games, five in each game. Wolcott beat Torrington 5-0 on Sept. 7 at home, then came away with a 5-1 victory at Oxford on Tuesday. The Eagles face a road test today at Woodland Regional in Beacon Falls.
The Crusaders have scored 11 goals in two games. Holy Cross pinned a 5-1 defeat on St. Paul on Sept. 7 in Bristol, then toppled Derby 6-1 at home on Tuesday. The Crusaders host Seymour today at 3:45 p.m.
Depending on what happens today with Wolcott and Holy Cross, there could be a battle of undefeated teams under the lights of Joe Monroe Field next Monday at 6 o’clock.
