A trio of Bristol Blues got the chance to face the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team on Tuesday night in Worcester, Mass.
The three Blues were part of a Futures League Prospect Team that was defeated 6-4. There was of course Bristol’s own Tommy Curtin, who pitched an inning. Curtin faced four batters, walked one, and threw 10 of his 18 pitches for strikes. He began the seventh inning with a walk, but induced a double play. After a single, Curtin retired the next batter to end the inning.
The best night had by a Bristol Blue was Jake Frasca. Frasca tallied three hits, including a solo home run. He was named FCBL Player of the Night. Frasca played both shortstop and third base in the field.
Bristol Blue Chris Davis also got the chance to take the field. Davis played center field, led off and was 0-for-1 with a walk.
