Former Bristol Eastern standout K.J. Smith is being recognized as one of the Northeast Conference’s top performers before the 2017 season even begins.
The junior tight end and H-back was named to the All-Northeast Conference Football First Team on Thursday when it was released by the league. Smith is one of four Blue Devils chosen for the preseason first team, two on offense and two on defense.
Last season, Smith caught 38 passes in 11 games for 489 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore.
CCSU was picked to finish fourth in the NEC.
