The Saint Paul Catholic Boys’ Soccer Jamboree turned out to be a very successful day.
The event, held at St. Paul Catholic High School on Maltby Street, raised $1,100, according to Scott Federowicz. Federowicz is the father of St. Paul senior keeper Zach Federowicz.

The money raised goes toward the Bristol Talks Teal Campaign of Tony and Judy Lodovico.
Tony Lodovico is a former boys soccer head coach and athletic director at St. Paul, and his wife is a 12-year ovarian cancer survivor.
Tony established the “Bristol Talks Teal Fund” in 2013 at the Main Street Foundation in honor of Judy.
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and the St. Paul soccer program has been involved with helping to turn Bristol teal.
Head coach Tony Leone likes to have his program give back to the community, and this was another example of it.
The St. Paul Boys’ Soccer Booster Club sold hot dogs, hamburgers and refreshments during the event, which lasted from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A raffle was held and various prizes were given away.
As for the soccer itself, St. Paul played in the jamboree, as did Northwestern Region 7 (Winsted), Plainville and Daniel Hand (Madison). Northwestern is from the nearby Berkshire League while Plainville is a member of the also-close-by Central Connecticut Conference.
The jamboree brought together some solid soccer programs for a day of competitive soccer, but it also brought together people from all over the state to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.
