Bristol high school baseball’s influence was noticeable in each of the last two Eastern Connecticut State University games.
The Warriors, ranked fourth in Division III baseball, knocked off No. 21 Wheaton College, 7-4, on Tuesday in Norton, Mass. ECSU followed that up with a 13-5 bludgeoning of Worcester Polytechnic Institute at Eastern Baseball Stadium in Mansfield.
Jared Clark of Bristol Central had a homer, sacrifice fly and three RBI in the win over Wheaton. Josh Cofrancesco of St. Paul added a double, single and two runs scored. Ryan Parent, also from St. Paul, singled, drove in a run and scored another.
ECSU’s offensive explosion in the seventh and eighth innings turned a two-run game into a rout against WPI. Cofrancesco went 4-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBI. Noah Plantamuro of Bristol Central was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI.
Plantamuro is a senior for ECSU. Cofrancesco and Plantamuro are juniors while Clark is a freshman. Sean Wininger of Bristol Central is a sophomore for the Warriors.
