Can anyone in the Naugatuck Valley League beat the Sacred Heart boys basketball team?
No one has been able to answer that question in the affirmative, so far. Crosby takes it shot at the Hearts tonight at 7 on Nick Augelli Court in The Palace at Crosby High School. It’s a big gym, so there’s plenty of good seats. Go and watch a potentially good game on a cold night.
What happened the last time these two city teams met? Well, the same thing that has happened to every Sacred Heart NVL opponent so far this season. The Hearts won 96-61 on Jan. 15 at Alumni Hall.
Crosby (12-2, 10-2 NVL, 2-2 NVL Brass Division) hasn’t lost a game since. The Bulldogs have defeated Seymour, Ansonia, Derby, Kennedy, Woodland and East Hartford during a six-game winning streak. Crosby has four players averaging double figures, led by Jordan Booker. Jeremiah Kendall, Tyairus Sands and Roary Jadusingh. Dayquain Sinisterra and Daniel Jones average nearly 10 points per game, giving the Bulldogs a very balanced attack. Crosby prefers to trap and get out on the break, though Sacred Heart doesn’t mind doing that either.
