Bristol Eastern boys come out firing, hammer Plainville at home

The Bristol Eastern boys basketball team put visiting Plainville in an insurmountable hole in the opening quarter of Monday night’s CCC game in the Thomas M. Monahan Gymnasium.

The Lancers scored the first 17 points of the contest and rolled to an 83-51 win over the Blue Devils. Eastern improved to 10-3 with the victory.

Brayden Daupinais scored seven points and Jordan Chisholm added four during the 17-0 spurt. Zaveyn Tate tallied three points, Lukas Sward added two and Brady Bell contributed one. Bell did his job on the defensive end during the run, turning in a blocked shot and a steal on back-to-back possessions. Plainville scored its first basket of the quarter on a 3-pointer at the 1:20 mark.

Eastern led, 23-5, after one quarter and never looked back. The Lancers led by as many as 37 points in the fourth quarter.

Jordan Chisholm led Eastern with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. Brayden Dauphinais added 18 points, including six from the foul line. Lukas Sward tallied 13 points and Daveyn Tate contributed 10 to give the Lancers four players in double figures. Brady Bell had a nice all-around game with eight points.
