The Terryville Black Sox, which have a bunch of players from this area, are playing in the Connecticut Twilight League this season.
One of their top players, Andrew Hinckley, has already made his presence known in the early part of the season, both on the mound and at the plate. His fingerprints were all over a 9-0 victory over the Southington Aftershock on June 13 at Recreation Park in Southington.
Hinckley fired a seven-inning perfect game and struck out 12. At the plate, he went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. That’s about as strong an all-around game as can be.
Hinckley has already been named player of the week and pitcher of the week in a new feature brought together by CTL board member Rafi Garcia. He will probably earn at least one more in each category this season.
