The Holy Cross baseball team finished the first half of the season with three straight wins for an 8-2 record.
The second half begins Monday with a non-league game at Cheshire, a member of the Southern Connecticut Conference. The Rams are 5-4 but play in a tough league, so this should be a good test for the Crusaders. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
On Wednesday afternoon, Holy Cross is home at 4 p.m. against Wolcott (7-3), which has also won three straight games. The Crusaders and Eagles have had plenty of close games over the years, including contests in the NVL tournament, so this shouldn’t be any different.
Holy Cross is back on the road Friday for a 3:45 p.m. game against Woodland (9-1) in Beacon Falls. The Hawks have won their last four games. Woodland won both matchups against Holy Cross last season.
The Crusaders have gotten back on the right track after losing two out of three games, but this week provides stern tests that will show them where they stand.
