After an up-and-down start to the season, the Crosby boys’ basketball team has picked it up of late.

The Bulldogs have registered victories in five of their last seven games, including back-to-back wins over Holy Cross and Wilby. To no one’s surprise, Crosby (10-6) has been led by senior standout Jason Robinson. The 6-foot-4 Robinson leads the Bulldogs in points (22), rebounds (9), steals (2.4) and blocks (0.8) per game. He’s first in field goal percentage as well (47%) and has six double-doubles. Robinson has posted individual games of 37, 36 and 30 points. He’s also had rebounding totals of 16, 15, 15, 14, 11 and 10. Where Robinson goes, the Bulldogs go.

That’s not to say that Robinson lacks help. Junior Vaughn Grubb checks in at 9.4 points per game and once had 30 in a game this season on 10 3-pointers. Sophomores C.J. McRae (8 points and team-leading 4.3 assists per game) and Nevin Kinsey (6.2 ppg) have been a big help in the backcourt.

Crosby hosts WCA tonight at 7 o’clock on the Coach Nick Augelli Court. The Bulldogs trailed big in the first meeting, but wound up with a 95-89 loss at WCA.
