Jake Woznicki named USCA All-American

Bristol Eastern boys soccer senior Jake Woznicki had an amazing final season, and then he received an incredible honor on Wednesday.

Woznicki was chosen as a United Soccer Coaches Association All-American, as announced on the group’s website on Wednesday.

“How big can a shout-out be? Jake Woznicki named All-American for soccer this fall!! read a tweet from the Bristol Eastern athletics account. “What a great honor for a tremendous season and career. Very happy for you Jake!”

Woznicki scored 39 goals in 18 games and became the school’s all-time leading scorer. He helped Bristol Eastern to an unbeaten regular season (14-0-2) and the top seed in the Class L state tournament. During that great season, Woznicki broke the school’s all-time record of 63 goals scored by Chris Ghiglia, who has since become a successful high school coach. Ghiglia was enshrined in the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Woznicki ended his Eastern career with 72 goals. He was a four-time All-CCC South selection and two-time all-state selection. He can now call himself an All-American.
