St. Paul softball used the long ball to blow past Sacred Heart on Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul.
The Falcons smacked six home runs, including two each from Abby Poirot and Ava Hampton, in a 15-2 victory over the Hearts. Jess Persechino and Gillian Smith provided the other homers. Persechino was dominant in the circle, yielding a pair of unearned runs and striking out 13.
St. Paul improved to 3-1 on the season and was able to rebound from a tough 10-9 loss at Seymour on Monday evening.
