Eagle diamond aces flying south for April games

It’s ironic that the warmest day of 2019 was Saturday. It just happened to be the day that Wolcott softball left for Disney World. The Eagles had a game this morning against Lewis Mills at Disney’s Wide World of Sports, which they won 5-3. Wolcott softball improved to 4-0.

Wolcott baseball (4-1) departed for Tennessee, head coach Tary Scott’s home state, this morning for a pair of non-league games, the only two the team plays this season. The Eagles face Unicoi County on Wednesday, then take on Jefferson County on Thursday. Wolcott will play its first game back in Connecticut this coming Saturday at St. Paul at 1 p.m.

As for Wolcott softball, it has games remaining against Naugatuck on Tuesday and Woodland Regional on Wednesday. The first game back in Connecticut for the Eagles is this coming Saturday against St. Paul at 10 a.m. at George Babcock Field.
