St. Paul baseball rolls over Crosby in opener

St. Paul baseball got five no-hit innings from Ethan Rembish and Dylan Gagnon on the way to a 10-0 win over Crosby on Saturday at St. Paul Catholic High School. The game was the season opener for both teams.

Rembish got eight of his nine outs via strikeout. Gagnon picked up five of his six outs on punch-outs. Rembish was the winning pitcher.

The Falcons scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning. St. Paul added a pair of runs in the second and third innings, then followed up with a final run in the fourth. Shaun Rembillard had a bases-loaded triple to go along with a single. Julian Thayer had a triple, single two runs scored and a RBI.

Crosby’s next game is on Monday at Kaynor Tech at 3:45 p.m. St. Paul faces Waterbury Career Academy on Friday at 4 p.m. at home.
