Kennedy boys basketball got the win it needed on Saturday and will play in the Division II state tournament.
The Eagles defeated the Kaynor Tech Panthers 71-63 on Saturday afternoon inside the Jack Taglia Gymnasium. Kennedy finished the regular season at 8-12 while Kaynor dropped to 11-8.
Matt Torres dropped in a game-high 29 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Eagles. Jay Turner added 18 points for the winners, who used a 27-12 third quarter to blow the game open.
Nashua Lovett had 20 points while Saijon McIntosh added 19 for the Panthers.
