Wolcott boys basketball off to quick start

Wolcott boys basketball began the 2018-2019 season with a 59-53 road win over the Waterbury Career Academy on Dec. 14. The Eagles made it 2-0 on Tuesday night with a 62-58 win over Wilby in the home opener inside the John Morris Gymnasium.

Wolcott’s win on Tuesday night was a nice birthday present for head coach Matt Craig, according to school Facebook page. The Eagles have been led by the three-pronged attack of Elmin Redzepagic, Jack Drewry and Brian Perzhilla. Redzepagic erupted for 26 points in the season opener, then tallied 14 in the home opener. Drewry had 17 against WCA and 13 against Wilby. Perzhilla tallied 11 versus the Spartans another 15 against the Wildcats. Redzepagic and Drewry are senior forwards and Perzhilla is a junior guard.

Wolcott has some time off from games until the Bristol Central Holiday Tournament, which takes place on Dec. 27 and 29.
