Dunks galore in the city on Friday night, with more games today

There were some power dunks and a one-handed jam thrown down by the Hearts, led by Jamaal Waters, who scored 21 points. Nate Tabor led Sacred Heart with 22 points in the 54-40 home victory over Weaver. Waters posted a triple-double that included 11 rebounds and 10 blocks.

Marquan Watson threw down a pair of dunks off of the glass for WCA in its 95-75 home win over Crosby. Watson almost put up a triple-double in his own right with 30 points, 17 rebounds and six assists. Jonathan Edwards (18), Langstun Racine (16), Khalil Simon (13) and Darrell Coombs (10) also scored in double figures for the Spartans in their offensive explosion.

Sacred Heart’s game against Weaver was part of the inaugural Mustapha Heron Skills Academy Connecticut vs. New York High School Basketball Showcase. The tournament continues today at Crosby High School. Sacred Heart plays Our Saviour Lutheran of the Bronx tonight at 8 o’clock. There are three games before Sacred Heart’s at Crosby. Bassick takes on Upper Room Christian of Dix Hills at 2 p.m., with the Sacred Heart girls following at 4 p.m. against the Brooklyn Democracy Academy. At 6 p.m., the Windsor boys face the Brooklyn Democracy Academy.
