Three local runners finished in the top 30 of the annual Litchfield Hills Road Race, a 7.1-mile trek held on Sunday in Litchfield.

Spencer Johnson, a 23-year-old Bristol native, was the top area finisher after taking ninth place in a time of 36:12. Johnson was a standout athlete at Bristol Central High School, then went on to have a solid tenure athletically and academically at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

The 29th place finisher was 24-year-old Waterbury native John Ducham. Ducham did well at Kennedy High School before moving on to Post University. Right behind him in 30th place was outgoing Kennedy senior Kyle Hotchkiss. Harrison Foley, 16, of Waterbury Career Academy was 69th.

There were other locals who competed in the LHRR. Former St. Paul standout Maddie Sturm, an incoming senior at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, finished 133rd.

Former Holy Cross standouts Katie Bobinski and Megan Bobinski, both natives of Torrington, ran 1:03.50. They were 428th and 429th, according to the results list posted on the Waterbury Republican-American sports website.
