Waterbury native Walter Wright III is living out a dream.
Wright, a former standout at Wilby High School and Division I player at the University of Montana, is in his rookie season with PP TV RAJ Zilina in Extraliga, the top professional league in Slovakia.
Zilina is having a rough season with just four wins, but Wright is having a great individual campaign. Just look at the league leaders posted on the website Eurobasket.
Through games played on Jan. 24, Wright was second in the SBL in points per game with 21.0. He was also second in steals per game (2.8) and fourth in assists (6.3).
Wright announced his signing with Zilina last September.
