No. 12 Holy Cross girls volleyball has moved on to the Class S semifinals.
The Crusaders got there with a 3-0 win (25-18, 25-18, 25-16) over No. 4 Innovation on Friday night in New Britain. Holy Cross will play top-seeded Coventry on Tuesday at a time and place to be announced.
Maia Regan had 10 digs, 17 assists and two aces for the Crusaders. Lizzy Diorio tallied 23 digs and an ace while Meah Austin compiled nine kills, six digs and two blocks.
This is the longest tournament run for Holy Cross since it reached the Class S state final in 2012. The Crusaders lost to state power Coventry in that final, and the Patriots once again stand in their way, this time in the semifinal round.
