The Kaynor Tech girls basketball team made it all the way to the Constitution State Conference Tournament championship game.
Of course with Capital Prep in the CSC, the end result won’t be good for a tech school like Kaynor, and it wasn’t on Saturday at the University of Saint Joseph’s in West Hartford. The Panthers lost 79-29 to the Trailblazers, but that takes absolutely nothing away from the run the tech school from Waterbury had.
“It wasn’t the result that we wanted but I am extremely proud of this team. 13-1 against Conference teams!” Stasaitis tweeted Saturday. The tweet included a team picture with the runner-up trophy.
Kaynor Tech will host a Class M first round state tournament game Tuesday when it plays Rocky Hill in a battle of the No. 15 and No. 18 seeds. It’s already been a solid season for the Panthers, and they hope to keep it going as long as they can.
