The Tigers spent the week at home with two games on the familiar wood floor of Auburn Arena. Auburn came away with two wins, 78-74 over LSU on Wednesday and 84-64 over Alabama on Saturday. Heron scored in double figures both games to extend his Auburn freshman record to 19.
What happened last week
LSU: Auburn had to overcome a spirited effort by their Tiger counterparts from LSU. Heron started, played 29 minutes and scored 12 points. He shot 5-of-12 from the floor, including 1-of-3 on three-point attempts. Heron had six rebounds, two assists, two turnovers and one steal. Heron scored 11 of his points in the first half.
Alabama: After being tied at 30 at the half, the Tigers outscored the Crimson Tide 54-34. Heron came up big for Auburn in the second half with 14 of his 15 points. He was 5-of-8 from the floor, including 3-of-3 on 3-pointers. Heron also had two rebounds and a steal in 17 minutes in the second half. Overall, Heron played 31 minutes and scored 15 points to go along with five rebounds, two steals and three turnovers. He was 1-of-2 from the foul line in both halves.
The week ahead
Auburn plays at South Carolina on Tuesday, then at TCU on Saturday.

The Herd played one game last week, and it was a 73-57 road loss to Western Kentucky on Saturday. Brooks played 21 minutes in the loss.
What happened last week
Western Kentucky: Brooks was perfect from the floor (3-of-3 field goals, 1-of-1 3-pointers) and scored seven points. She had just one rebound to go along with one assist, two turnovers and two steals. Brooks has played in and started every game for Marshall.
The week ahead
Marshall faces a pair of Texas opponents on the road. First up is the University of Texas at Arlington on Thursday. The Herd take on the University of Texas at El Paso on Saturday.

The Griz lost both games they played this week, each one on the road. Montana lost 88-79 to Portland State on Thursday, then was defeated 92-83 by Sacramento State on Saturday.
What happened last week
Portland State: Wright played 20 minutes and scored eight points on a rough 2-of-10 shooting night. He made one of his two 3-pointers and three of his four foul shots. Wright also had two rebounds, five assists and four turnovers.
Sacramento State: Wright played just seven minutes, all in the second half, of the loss. Wright didn’t score and had one assist in those seven minutes. He entered the game with 16:36 left to play in the second half. Head coach Travis DeCuire said this when asked about Wright:
“We looked to get him some reps in the second half, but he wasn’t really clicking,” said DeCuire in an article by Bob Meseroll of the Missoulian. DeCuire added that Wright would be fine, and he pointed out the play of others like Sayeed Pridgett and Mario Dunn.
The week ahead
Montana, at just 5-3 in the Big Sky Conference and 10-11 overall, needs victories. The Griz play homes Thursday against Eastern Washington and Saturday against Idaho.

The Minutemen split their two games this past week. UMass knocked off Saint Joseph’s 62-57 on Wednesday, but lost 71-68 to Fordham on Saturday.
What happened last week
Saint Joseph’s: Flowers played eight minutes and attempted two shots, including one 3-pointer. He had two points, one assist and one turnover.
Fordham: Flowers played 11 minutes, but didn’t score. He had one personal foul in those 11 minutes and didn’t attempt a shot.
The week ahead
UMass travels to Saint Louis for a game Wednesday, then returns home for George Mason on Saturday.
