It took one final fourth quarter burst, but Bristol Eastern was able to hold off New Britain at home and give head coach Bunty Ray his first win.
The Lancers claimed a 47-41 victory over the Golden Hurricanes, thanks to a 6-0 run in the final minutes, according to results reported to the Hartford Courant. Roderick Jenkins, a transfer from Waterbury Career Academy, had nearly half of Eastern’s points with 21.
Ray took over for long-time head coach Mike Giovinazzo, who retired. The Lancers are 1-1 on the season.
