In two of its first three matches, the St. Paul girls soccer team came oh-so-close to picking up a victory.
The Falcons began the season with a 1-1 tie at home against Holy Cross, then lost to Watertown 4-1 on the road. St. Paul secured its second tie, 0-0, against Wolcott on Monday.
On Wednesday evening in front of the home fans, the Falcons broke through against Sacred Heart, winning by a score of 5-1.
The Sacred Heart tilt started a three-match homestand for St. Paul. The Falcons host Woodland on Friday at 4 p.m., then play Ansonia next Monday at 5 p.m.
