Bristol Eastern wrestling wins Bristol Central Invitational

It came down to the final weight class, but Bristol Eastern wrestling held on for its first Bristol Central Invitational title since 2011 on Saturday (credit goes to Gerry deSimas of CT Wrestling Online for that title information).
The Lancers tied with the rival Rams for the most pins on the day with 13 as both city teams put together strong efforts. It was Central’s Krys Nizielski with the pin at 285 that clinched the title for Eastern. The Lancers finished first with 186 points while Fairfield Ludlowe was second with 182.5. New Fairfield was third, Middletown fourth and Central fifth with 152 points. These results were posted by trackwrestling.com
Quality depth proved to be key for the Lancers, who had just one first place finish from Jordon Champagne at 106. Eastern helped its own cause by claiming second at 138 (Josh Wilson), 160 (Zac Thompson) and 182 (Zach Marquis). The Lancers finished third at 145 (Greg Lozier) and fourth at 120 (Justin Marshall), 126 (Jack Kachidurian) and 152 (Mikey Barrett). Sixth place finishes came at 195 (Anthony Circosta) and 285 (Hidekel Mangual).
For Central, Shane Oxton (145) and Nizielski were first place finishers. The Rams were second at 106 (Chris Trelli) and third at 220 (Noah Cruz). Central picked up fourth place finishes at 160 (Julian Galindez) and 182 (Brett Scully), a fifth place finish at 120 (Travis Parsons), and sixth place finishes at 113 (Blake Holder) and 126 (Jack Hale).
In the official 100-pound weight class, Eastern’s Nick Brandi was second while Central’s Aaron Goldberg placed third.
