Former Bristol Central wrestling standout and current Springfield College senior Chris Trelli had one stanza of his collegiate career come to an end last Friday evening.
Trelli wrestling in his final regular season home bout at the Springfield College Field House during a dual meet against Norwich University. The Pride won, 35-15, and so did Trelli. He claimed a 10-3 major decision over Jojo Lotruglio at 141 pounds. Trelli’s victory gave Springfield a 10-0 lead at the time.
When Springfield wrestled in the New England Wrestling Association Dual Championship on Jan. 23, Trelli went 3-0 on the day. He earned a win via pinfall against Bridgewater State University’s Stuart Glover in just 32 seconds in his first bout of the day. Trelli earned a 15-5 major decision over Lotruglio of Norwich. In his third and final bout against Castleton University, Trelli grabbed a 3-0 decision over James Rodriguez.
Trelli is majoring in sports biology.
