Matt Blandino turned in another solid effort for the Arizona League Reds.
Making his second appearance of the season on July 3, the former Bristol Central standout held the Indians to one run on three hits over four innings of work out of the bullpen. For the second straight time, Blandino struck out three and didn’t allow a walk.
Blandino gave up the run on a groundout in the fourth inning. He had surrendered a single and double before the groundout. Blandino recorded his first strikeout of the game to end the inning.
Blandino gave up one more hit in his appearance, a single in the fifth inning. Both of Blandino’s final two strikeouts came on called third strikes.
For the season, Blandino has an ERA of 2.57.
