American Legion baseball players from Bristol, Waterbury and Wolcott got to show what they can do Wednesday during the Rawlings Futures Showcase at a baking hot Balf-Savin Field on the campus of CCSU.
Bristol’s Zach Marquis singles to right center field. Marquis played right field and pitched for Team Red in the first game of the Rawlings Futures Showcase at Balf-Sakin Field on the campus of CCSU. |
The first game pitted a pair of teams sporting incoming high school seniors. Zachary Marquis, Andrew Owsianko and Wesley Lahey played from Bristol. Steve Urbanski was chosen from Wolcott. For Waterbury, Joevonni Torres and Peyton Stephens got the call.
Lahey pitched early in the game. Pitchers only threw an inning to keep their pitch counts down. Marquis also got some time on the mound.
