Nichols College freshman Jaekwon Spencer is getting his feet wet in his first NCAA Division III tournament, and the ride will have at least a third game.
Spencer, the former Bristol Central standout, has seen playing time off the bench in each of the two NCAA wins for the Bison. Spencer played seven minutes in Nichols’ 74-71 win over Middlebury and had one point and one rebound.
Nichols beat Rowan 87-76 in a second round game, and Spencer played 11 minutes in that contest. He had two rebounds, two blocks and two steals to help out the defensive effort of the Bison.
Nichols takes on Amherst on March 8 in a third round game. Amherst defeated Rosemont (84-53) and Rochester, N.Y. (75-67) in its first two games.
