
Former Sacred Heart High School standout and current Bristol Blues player Peyton Stephens was one of two players voted into the Futures Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game by the fans.
Stephens earned 37.42 percent of the vote and a total of 15,417 votes. He had the second highest percentage and second highest vote total behind Drew DeMartino of the Pittsfield Suns. DeMartino earned 50.74 percent of the vote and a total of 20,903 votes. Two players were chosen out of seven candidates by the fans in a vote on the website SurveyMonkey.
Stephens is hitting .250 with four doubles, one triple, one home run and 12 RBI. On the mound, the right-hander has pitched 5 2/3 innings, struck out 10 and posted a solid 1.58 ERA.
Stephens is one of six Bristol Blues to make the all-star game. They are Stephens, Patrick Winkel, Ian Ostberg, Emmet Sheehan, Richard Brereton and Neal McDermott.
The FCBL All-Star Game is this evening at 6:45 at Holman Stadium in Nashua, N.H. The game and the pregame Scout Day were moved from Tuesday to Wednesday because of thunderstorms.
