Holy Cross senior quarterback Drew Caouette (2) is now the all-time school record holder for touchdown passes in a career with 64. He broke Corey Fappiano’s record of 63 on Friday night.
Drew Caouette had a monster night for Holy Cross football on Friday night against Seymour, and he broke a Crusader career record along the way.
Caouette threw for 428 yards and five touchdowns in the 42-7 win over the Wildcats. The fifth and final touchdown, a 17-yarder to Tyler Smith, broke Corey Fappiano’s school record for career scoring passes. Fappiano had the previous mark of 63, which he accumulated from 2016-18. Caouette now has 64 career touchdown passes. The senior signal caller threw for scores of 25, 12, 11, 66 and 17 yards. Two went to Smith (66 and 17) while Dae’Sean Graves (25), Brayden Doherty (12) and Mason Mucci (11) each hauled in a single touchdown.
It was also a milestone night for head coach Mike Giampetruzzi. Giampetruzzi, who is also the school’s athletic director, picked up his 100th career win. Giampetruzzi is 100-57 in his Holy Cross head coaching tenure, which began in 2009. The Crusaders improved to 3-1 on the season with the victory.
