St. Paul senior standout Mike Palmieri needed 20 points Tuesday night against WCA to reach 1,000 for his career.
Palmieri got those 20 points, plus three more, and reached the career scoring milestone. He had a game-high 23 points for the Falcons in the 68-67 loss to the Spartans.
St. Paul associate head coach Brendan Phelps had nothing but praise for Palmieri, who has trained with Phelps since elementary school.
“I love you Mike and couldn’t be prouder of the person and player that you are,” Phelps wrote on Facebook.
Palmieri was a All-NVL selection last season and is among the best guards in the league again this season.
