Many high school athletes want to be good, but then you run into one that’s driven.
St. Paul senior Zach Federowicz is one of those driven student-athletes, and he will begin living out a dream at Quinnipiac University this fall. Federowicz signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday to play soccer for the Division I Bobcats.

“Honored to join the QU family for the next four years of my career,” Federowicz wrote in an Instagram post. “Thank you everyone, especially my family and coaches for helping get me where I am today.”
St. Paul athletic director Dave Dennehy spoke highly of Federowicz, a decorated student-athlete who was a three-time Class S All-State keeper and one-time All-New England selection.
“Zach is a consummate student / athlete, he has excelled at the highest level in both areas during his four years at SP,” Dennehy wrote in an email. “He is one of the hardest working and driven young men I have seen in my 10 years on the job. We are very proud of him and I know he will go on to do great things at Quinnipiac and beyond.”
Federowicz had 30 shutouts in his career at St. Paul, and he was a leader on the field at the back of the defense. He will no doubt continue to be driven, and continue to be a leader at the next level.
