Who’s in, who’s out for the upcoming postseason in boys basketball

There are just a few games left in the high school boys’ basketball regular season for our local teams, and here’s where they stand.

WCA is 15-3 overall and 14-2 in the NVL. The Spartans take on St. Paul (7-11, 6-10) before they play Wilby (11-7, 9-7) in their last regular season game. The Falcons close with Wolcott (9-8, 8-7) and WCA.

Holy Cross is 15-3 and 13-3. The Crusaders play against Watertown and Derby.

Kennedy is 14-4 and 13-3. The Eagles take on Torrington and Ansonia to close the regular season.

Crosby is 10-8 and 10-6. The Bulldogs play Wolcott and Oxford to end the regular season. The Eagles wind down their regular season with St. Paul, Crosby and Seymour.

WCA, Holy Cross and Kennedy are assured spots in the upcoming NVL tournament. Things still need to shake out to see where Crosby, Wilby and Wolcott land. All local NVL teams but St. Paul have clinched a state tournament berth. The Falcons need a win in their final two games to do so.

Bristol Eastern is 9-9 with two games left. The Lancers go against South Windsor against Bristol Central (5-13). The Rams close the regular season with games against Middletown and Eastern. Kaynor Tech finished the season with a record of 3-17. Eastern has already qualified for the state tournament. Central is already automatically qualified for the Division I tournament because of the limited amount of teams.
