St. Paul trio, former Bristol Eastern standout playing for Southington in CCBL

There were four former area players in the lineup Wednesday evening for the Southington Black Knights in their Connecticut Collegiate Baseball League game against the Brass City Bombers at Municipal Stadium.

Three of those players suited up for St. Paul while in high school. The former Falcons, Josh Cofrancesco, Ryan Parent and Owen Davis, were the right fielder, first baseman and catcher for Southington in its 8-4 victory. Another local was at second base, former Bristol Eastern player Andrew Lozier.

Cofrancesco singled twice, scored twice and drove in a run for the Black Knights. Lozier walked twice, was hit by a pitch and scored twice while Davis contributed a walk and run scored. Parent singled and walked. Southington (14-6) pushed into first place with the win, ahead of Brass City (13-7) and the West Haven Sailors (13-7).

The last regular season game is listed as next Wednesday. The playoffs follow, and all teams qualify. Both Southington and Brass City are aiming to be among the top seeds.
