Wolcott softball plays at Seymour for first game in 10 days

The last time the Wolcott softball team played a game, it was Saturday, April 2, also known as opening day of the 2022 spring sports season.

Nine days have passed since the Eagles played that game, and they finally get back on the diamond this evening, weather and field conditions permitting of course. That game happens to be at perennial power Seymour at 6 p.m. It’s not the easiest way to get back into the swing of things, but the schedule is what it is.

Wolcott won its season opener, 10-3, against Naugatuck at home. Kayla Nuehlen was 4-for-4 with a home run that day while Kaitlyn Ouellette threw a complete game and allowed three runs on nine hits. Ouellette struck out nine and walked just one.

Seymour is 2-1 and coming off a 15-3 win over Ansonia in six innings Monday.
