The Bristol Central girls basketball team took care of business Wednesday night and beat Hartford Public, 64-46, in the Charles C. Marsh Gymnasium.
The Rams finished the regular season with a 10-10 record, including 7-8 in league play. It’s the first Central team to finish a regular season at .500 since 2014-2015.
It was the final regular season home game for Ram seniors Gabriella Watson and Lillian Sirois. Central is 15th in the Class L state playoff standings entering this evening’s action, which means they could be in line for a first round home game.
Central got solid play from a couple of sophomores in Monday night’s 63-51 loss at rival Bristol Eastern. Brooke Watson scored 20 points while Arianna Rivera added 15 points. The Rams would love to get another great effort like that offensively in their first state tournament game. Class L first round games are slated to be played on Feb. 28 or March 1, depending on whether a team is in the upper or lower part of the bracket.
