Holy Cross boys rebound from loss

The Holy Cross boys basketball team didn’t have a particularly good night Tuesday at The Crosby Palace, falling by a 79-56 tally to Crosby.

For much of the game, the Crusaders were outrebounded and outhustled by the Bulldogs. When Holy Cross attempted to rally from a 24-point halftime deficit in the third quarter, it couldn’t knock down shots, sometimes open 3-pointers or even layups.

Holy Cross needed a short-term memory as Immaculate visited Wednesday night in a non-league game at Tim McDonald Gymnasium. The Crusaders did what they needed to do against the Mustangs and claimed a 75-64 rebound victory inside The Pit.

Ashton Sannasi led Holy Cross (2-1) with 27 points. Elijah Parker added 23 points and Peyton Mullins chipped in 12 in a solid three-guard attack for the Crusaders. Holy Cross stormed out to a 28-11 lead after one quarter and led, 41-24, at halftime.

Holy Cross plays its third game in as many days today at Oxford at 3 p.m.
